Scholarships

The OMMEP, OAIMA and Ohio Aglime Council will Award a minimum of $10,000 to students in 2025.  Winners will be notified of their selection.

Eligibility:

Student must be a citizen of the United States.  Student must be in good academic standing and have taken or will be taking coursework relating to the exploration, excavation, engineering, acquisition, production or other areas related to the Aggregates & Industrial Minerals industry in Ohio.  Scholarship winners are required to furnish a transcript and at least two (2) letters of recommendation.  Scholarships will be awarded to students entering or enrolled in an Associate or Bachelors Degree Program in Civil Engineering, Construction Materials or a related field.  Graduate students with their major focus of study related to construction materials with an emphasis on mining will also be considered.

Selection:

 Selection of scholarship recipients will be based upon the following criteria:

  1. Application must be typed or printed clearly.
  2. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  3. There should be a demonstrated interest in a career in the Ohio Industrial Minerals Industry.
  4. Student’s extracurricular and philanthropic activities will be considered.
  5. Although outstanding scholastic ability is not a criterion, student must be in good academic standing with the university/college.
  6. At least two (2) Letters of recommendation are required.
  7. Scoring will be performed by the OAIMA Public Relations Committee with maximum possible 25 points as indicated in the application.
