What One Should do in an Active Shooter Incident

Having a plan and knowing how to implement it can reduce the risk of injuries

HR Answer: Active shooter incidents are an unfortunate reality facing us all. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and can evolve quickly. It is important to provide your employees with the information needed to help prevent and prepare for the unthinkable.

How to Prepare

The first step in preparing for any emergency is to create an Emergency Action Plan:

• Clearly identify possible evacuation routes – have at least two.
• Maintain up-to-date emergency contact information for all employees to provide to local authorities.
• Practice your evacuation and response plan annually.
