OAIMA Members Present at OTEC

OAIMA members recently hosted a session at the Ohio Transportation and Engineering Conference (OTEC) focused on aggregate resources and their use in asphalt and concrete. Pat Jacomet (OAIMA) discussed aggregate reserves, explaining the important role locally available aggregate resources play in Ohio’s economy and daily life. Ed Morrison (Mar-Zane) presented the case for “Blending for Quality” through asphalt and concrete batching plants. Jeff Wigdahl (National Lime & Stone) covered the use of limestone sands and fines in portland cement concrete.

OTEC brings together more than 4,000 people from across the country who are interested in Ohio’s transportation industry, making it one of the largest transportation and engineering conferences in the United States. Its program combines the latest policy and technical information with new ideas across transportation policy, planning, environmental topics, design, construction, maintenance, operation, local government, and transportation resource management.

These presentations help educate end-users and specifiers about the importance of access to quality aggregate resources. Thank you to Jeff Wigdahl, Ed Morrison and Larry Shively (Shelly) for contributing to that effort.
