Former President Biden Completes a Course of Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer

He “rang the bell" at the Philadelphia center where he was receiving treatment

Former President Joe Biden completed a round of radiation therapy Monday, as part of his treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

"I can confirm that he has completed a course of radiation therapy today," said Kelly Scully, a Biden spokesperson, who noted that Biden "rang the bell" at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia where he has been undergoing the therapy for several weeks.

Ringing the bell is a tradition in cancer facilities that patients perform to mark major milestones. Biden's spokesperson declined to comment on any plans the former president has for future treatment.
